Introducing Jazz Bites Man

April 3, 2007

I have just posted several videos of a performance with my new band, Jazz Bites Man. We perform a mix of rock, jazz, funk (you could say fusion, but I don't like the sound of it), and most of our repertoire is my original music.

Three new guitar lessons

March 31, 2007

  • Modes on a string - This lesson explores the technique of shifting and the seven modes in one compact exercise.
  • Force exercise - A miniature etude I've written to explore a difficult harmonic progression.
  • 7/4 Rhythms - Some syncopated rhythms for comping in an odd meter.

Triads and textures

March 7, 2007

Last night I felt like exploring triadic voice-leading on my guitar (again). What started out as an exercise turned into a beautiful harmonic texture. In fact, I like the sound of this exercise so much, I plan to modify it and expand it into a musical piece one day. View the new lesson here.

February 24, 2007

I've just added another thrilling exercise in the Guitar section of the site. If you're into expansive sounding arpeggios - or just want to boost your chops a little bit - you should definitely check this out.
